By accident
I just remembered something funny from vacation when we attended church in Atlanta.

When we picked up Claire from the church nursery, one of the workers handed us Claire's diaper bag and said "Oh, she had an accident."

Our reaction was, "Oh! Is she OK?" thinking she'd fallen, bonked her head or pinched her fingers.

"Oh yes," the worker said, "we changed her diaper at about 11:45."

Is this just one of those weird Southern affectations, not saying things like "dirty diaper"? In my mind, only the toilet-trained can have accidents. A baby using a diaper for its intended purpose is not "an accident," it's very deliberate!
